Leona Valley Sertoma slates annual dinner, food and toy drive

LEONA VALLEY — Leona Valley Sertoma will host its annual free holiday dinner Sunday at the Leona Valley Community Building and the 2023 Outdoor Holiday Food and Toy Drive Dec. 9 and 10 at Hemme Hay and Feed.

The dinner is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the community building, 8367 Elizabeth Lake Road.

All seniors 55 and older are invited to enjoy a free meal. The menu will feature turkey, ham, meatloaf, green beans, sweet and mashed potatoes, stuffing, salad, cranberries, roll, assorted desserts, punch and coffee. Guests will have the option for indoor or outdoor dining, weather permitting.

Guests are asked to bring

an in-date canned food or non-perishable for the group’s annual “holiday giving” event.

Leona Valley Sertoma’s 2023 Outdoor Holiday Food and Toy Drive is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 9 and 10 outside Hemme Hay and Feed, 9000 Elizabeth Lake Road, at the corner of 90th Street West. Donations of current canned food and non-perishables and children’s toys are encouraged.

Check donations will also be accepted. Checks made out to Sertoma will be accepted and used for family holiday gift cards.

Provisions are for Three Points, Green Valley, Lake Elizabeth, Lake Hughes and Leona Valley families. The fire truck from Los Angeles County Fire Station 140 will be on Elizabeth Lake Road for photo opportunities.
