Animal name: Kole

Kole is a one-year, one-month-old, black, altered Pitbull that was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as a stray. Kole is a happy, tail-wagging dog, seeking affection and attention. He allowed the medical staff and his handler to examine him without any problem. Kole loves to petting and allowed his handler to give him the attention he was seeking during examination. During his play yard time, he was standing at the gate with soft eyes, a relaxed body and a high tail wag as the runner approached. The handler opened the gate and was able to loop leash him easily. Kole walked well with the handler on the way to the catch pen. He entered and remained next to the runner with a relaxed body. The handler was able to place the collar around his neck easily. Kole remained relaxed as he greeted a female Shepherd through the play yard fence. He entered the yard and was surrounded by the other dogs. Kole remained relaxed as they sniffed his body. A male Shepherd lingered in his face and licked him intensely. He remained relaxed and tolerated the Shepherd. Kole was relaxed with soft eyes as he solicited affection from the handlers. A playful male Husky came up and play bowed at his feet. The two took off chasing each other around the yard. Kole was comfortable with the Husky pawing at his side and jumping over him as they ran. He remained social and friendly with other dogs for the remainder of his stay. Kole is recommended to a home with middle school-aged children. Large dogs are OK. To meet Kole, visit the center during its public hours of 2 to 5 p.m., daily and 2 to 7 p.m., Wednesdays.
