Animal name: Mason

Mason is a one-year, three-month-old, golden brown, altered, male German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix that was brought to the Palmdale Animal Care Center as a stray. He is happy, wiggly and friendly and loves attention. Mason’s tail wags for affection and he always wants to be with people. He got along very well with other dogs. Mason allowed the medical staff to examine him with a happy demeanor and was happy to see people. He seems to know commands such as “sit” and “wait.” Mason has a gentle and dainty play style and is sociable and nonreactive being around other dogs. He is friendly and easy to leash in and out of his kennel. Mason walks well on a leash, loves to get treats and is smart. During his playgroup time, he greeted his handler at the kennel gate. Mason was easy to loop leash at the kennel and walked to the play yard with no pull. When in the pen, he exchanged soft greetings with the other dogs through the play yard fence. Mason was easily collared by the handler. Mason approached a female Shepherd and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He then approached a male Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with him. After this, Mason roamed the yard and explored his surroundings. He was tolerant of dogs trailing to sniff him. Mason continued to roam the yard among the other dogs and exchange soft greetings. He approached a female Shepherd and playfully bounced around in front of her. They engaged in some gentle/ dainty play. Mason remained playful and social for the rest of his time in the yard. He is recommended to a home with middle school-aged children. He also gets along with large dogs. To meet Mason, visit the center during its public hours of 2 to 5 p.m., daily and 2 to 7 p.m., Wednesdays.
