Jury deliberations in Weinstein case begin

LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Jurors in Harvey Weinstein’s sex-assault trial were handed the case, Friday — after a prosecutor, in his closing argument, urged the panel to “do the right thing and find justice” for the four women the former film producer is accused of raping.

The jury deliberated for about two-anda-half hours, Friday afternoon, without reaching a verdict. The panel is due back at 9:30 a.m., Monday, to continue deliberating.

On Friday morning, prior to the start of deliberations, Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson delivered more than two hours of rebuttal arguments, telling the jury, “You have irrefutable, overwhelming evidence of the nature of this man and what he did to these women.”

Weinstein, now 70, is charged with seven sex-related counts involving the four women.
